And More!

Gaeilgeoirí na míosa

Tadhg from Sinéad’s Fourth Class brought home a broken bug hotel that was found on yard and spent three hours restoring it.

“I made a section for the bees with bamboo, and the conkers and the sticks down below for spiders. I used lots of crushed up wood for woodlice and at the very bottom there is muck with 7 worms, 3 ants and a millipede.”

Well done Tadhg. He did an amazing job and took on this restoration all by himself. Thank you so much for looking after all of the minibeasts of GETNS!

Liah’s 3rd class had fun making their own board games today

Last Friday, Colm’s 6th Class visited Clarehaven Nursing Home to help celebrate Positive Ageing Week. Below is a lovely recount that Sofia wrote about the visit.

A Special Trip by Sofia Whyte

Today, we went to Clarehaven Nursing Home to visit some of the residents for Positive Ageing Week. We got there and were greeted by a lot of warm smiles and waves.

We started by singing ‘Molly Malone’ and ‘Grace’, and just like on TV there was a judge called Billy. He sang in the National Concert Hall when he was younger. He gave us 10/10.

Next, we had a chance to chat to everyone. There was Rose, Billy, John, Kathleen, Anne, Michael, Jennifer, Angela, Joan and Millie. They showed us the salon where they go their hair and nails done. They also told us about their trips to Croke Park and summer barbeques.

Overall, we had an amazing day with lots of laughter and fun.

2nd class practicing their hand pass in PE this week. We were focusing on developing our ball-handling skills as part of the Games strand. Realtín

RSA Research Project Survey

My name is Ava Kelly, I am a final-year Marketing Innovation and New Technology student at Dublin City University as well as a past student of Glasnevin Educate Together. I am working on a group project in collaboration with An Garda Síochána and the RSA on road safety during the school run.

We would be very grateful if you could share this short anonymous survey with parents. It takes about 7–8 minutes to complete, and all necessary information (purpose, consent, and privacy) is included in the survey itself.
