Everyone really enjoyed all of the activities and stations on this year’s Art Day. Children loved spending the whole day being creative and having fun immersed in arts and crafts & film making projects. A HUGE thank you to the incredible parents on the Art Committee & STEAM Committee who helped make this year’s reimagined Art Day as wonderful as ever! Take a look at the slide show of pictures for each class below to see what they got up to!

As part of our Road Safety Week, Garda Martin kindly visited our school and discussed how to be safe on our roads with students from 2nd-6th class. Garda Martin spoke about how to be safe as a pedestrian, a cyclist & a scooterist! He emphasied how imperative it is to wear a helmet when cycling or scooting! As lots of our children walk, cycle and scoot to school this discussion was very important.

This week was Autism Awareness week in our school. The children learnt about what autism is through different stories and activities. As part of this, the children looked at how we are all similar and different in so many ways. We explored how our differences make us all unique in our own way & one child in second class summed it up perfectly when he said ‘this is what makes us all so wonderful!’ We also discussed how we can be a friend to other children with autism and it’s clear that the children have a fantastic understanding of friendship & what it means. As part of this special week, the children wore blue for World Autism Awareness Day on Tuesday, 2nd of April. This is an international movement in support of acceptance and understanding of people with autism.
