Dear Parents and Guardians/A Thuismitheoirí agus a Chaomhnóirí,
PTA Annual Table Quiz
Thank you so much to the PTA for your stellar table quiz on Saturday night. Not only a great fundraiser but a great fundraiser for the school. Thanks to all who supported it whether through attending, buying raffle tickets, donating prizes and securing sponsorship. The funds raised this year will go towards enhancing our outdoor play areas, including new play equipment. Sorcha
“We were delighted to see such a fantastic turnout at last Saturday’s Annual Fundraiser Quiz organised by the PTA. Thanks to the wonderful support from our school community, the event raised €2,625. A huge thank‑you to our generous sponsors, everyone who donated raffle prizes, and all who joined us on the night.” Claire, PTA Table Quiz
Planetarium with Thanks to Parents’ Fundraising
The whole school thoroughly enjoyed the Planetarium visit today and yesterday. Many thanks to the PTA for funding and organising the visit and also to all parents who raise money for the school, making this visit possible. These are some of the children’s responses:-
- Eira ' I loved the calming, cool atmosphere!'
- Charlie 'I liked how it felt like you were moving with with the pictures. '
- Sadie ' I liked all the projections like when the shark and the dinosaur came!'
- Luka 'I liked how it felt like you were in space.'
- Conor 'I liked how realistic it all was!'
Martin who ran the event commented on what a delight the children were, how engaged, curious and knowledgeable he found them to be, he said it was a pleasure visiting the school. We are so proud of you all!
Art Day is happening on Friday, 5th June!
With help from Parent Volunteers, for one day a year, we take over the school and let children explore lots of different Art activities, including music and dance, encouraging their imagination and creativity.
We were lucky to be featured on RTE’s news2day, check it out here for an idea of what is involved!
For the day to be successful we need as many parent volunteers as possible. You can help out or volunteer and lead art activities. New ideas are always welcome!
There are so many different areas to cover so whether you are a novice or pro, your help is invaluable.
NO ARTISTIC TALENT NECESSARY!
Volunteers should be available from 9.00 till 14.20 on 5th Jun 2026.
(Junior Infants’ pick up is 13.20 so we are looking at an activity to cover 13.20 to 14.20 for children of volunteers).

And More!
On Wednesday both our 6th classes went on a guided tour of Dublin Castle. It was really insightful tour and great to get the opportunity to see inside this building with it's gold-leaf rooms, St Patricks Hall, Waterford crystal chandeliers, whispering chairs and a grand throne room. We took advantage of the nice weather and had our lunch in the Dubh Linn gardens. We also had a quick look at the 1926 Census exhibition in the Coach House before we left too. Áine & Colm
We are very lucky to have a visiting art teacher with us for two weeks as part of a European exchange programme. Maria is working with the children doing art workshops, gallery visits and cultural studies with the 6th class Spanish classes. Next week she will also be showcasing the cello and playing for the children. And Thanks to Jill for liaising with Maria and supporting her work in our school.
A great Wednesday with Art by Maria, to create some 3D paper sculptures.
Then into the Planetarium with Martin, which was the best fun. Dee
Great fun in ALC Green, enjoying the sunshine
More art news! We also have Barry (Marla and Ivy’s dad) working with a group of lucky children on an Art Walls cross border art project. The children will engage with drawing and design, augmented reality (AR) and graffiti art in the creation of the project. Jill
1st class made vegetable dyes and dipped fabric to change the colour! We had a lot of fun. Caroline
Sinead's Fourth Class were very lucky to have art teacher from Spain Nieves Maria bring us for a visit to the Art Gallery. She put lots of work into our tour and we had a great day. Sinéad
The class enjoyed learning about Irish artist Evie Hone and created their own stained glass in groups. Realtín
Many thanks to the staff involved, Jill, Siobhán, Dee, Colm, Daniel, Maureen, Beth and the parent volunteers, in liaising Cumman na mBunscoil and FAI, training the teams in their own time and bringing them to and from matches. This truly enhances children’s holistic experience of school life and gives them opportunities to enjoy sports and team events in a nurturing familiar environment.
On Saturday evening the 18th of April, two girls from the senior Camogie team represented our school playing for Dublin at half time V Offaly in O Connor Park, Tullamore. It was a great occasion! We are very proud of them! Well done 👏
