And More!

Daniel’s JI having great fun exploring different ways to problem solve with the new maths curriculum 😊

Both 2nd classes have begun literacy power hour twice a week and are enjoying reading, writing and word work stations.

Dear Parents and Guardians/A Thuismitheoirí agus a Chaomhnóirí,

Art Day

A massive thank you to Sarah, Michele, Aisling, Claire and Sinéad for a truly wonderful and successful day of creativity. All of the children engaged fully and had much fun. Thanks to Michael and John for the novel and adventurous 3D model whole-school project.

Call Out for Book Return

As the end of year approaches, we would like to ask that all books belonging to the school be returned to teachers please, this includes homework readers, library books etc.

Schoolbooks Scheme

The Department of Education is now carrying out an evaluation of the scheme. Hearing directly from school staff, parents and guardians will help us understand what worked well and where improvements can be made. Your feedback will help shape how the scheme develops in the future, so it continues to support students effectively and reduces costs for families.

The Department of Education would be grateful if you could support this process by completing this parent/guardian survey:

Please note that the deadline for survey responses is Friday, 26 June.

Congratulations to our teacher, Aoife Cotter, on winning the Connect Kerry Entrepreneur Award for her business, Born Zippy.

Born Zippy creates colourful, comfortable and practical adaptive clothing for children with additional needs. Founded by Aoife after recognising a gap in the market for accessible children's clothing, the business is committed to supporting comfort, independence and inclusion for children and their families.

We are delighted to see Aoife's innovation, dedication and hard work recognised with this well-deserved award.

And More!

Senior Infants are loving Our under the sea theme in play this week. Dee

Second Class had great fun taking part in a Science Design and Make challenge. Working in teams, the children designed and built boats using tin foil, with the aim of creating a boat that could hold the most coins before sinking.

There was lots of testing, problem-solving and excitement as the boats were put to the test! A huge well done to the winning team, Alex, Rian K, Seán, Romain and Jake, whose boat held a massive 80 coins before going under. Realtín

Art Day fun from Lisa's Class

Well Done, Eira! Congratulations to Eira Visoka, who was featured on the front page of the Irish Examiner after placing 3rd in her age category at the Feis Ceoil competition. We are very proud of her achievement! Lisa

They will get some goodies when they start and if they read 8 books, they will get a certificate and a medal. They might win prizes in a draw at the end of the summer too. All children need to join Summer Stars is their library card. If they don't have a library card, it's free to join and their parents can ask the library for a membership form.
