Dear Parents and Guardians/A Thuismitheoirí agus a Chaomhnóirí,
Planetarium with Thanks to Parents’ Fundraising
The whole school will be treated to an onsite planetarium experience next Wednesday and Thursday. We are very grateful to the parents for all their hard work with raising funds to make this possible.
Opportunities with thanks to Student Council
We received some requests from the Student Council including the formation of a basketball team. The Board were very impressed with the surveys presented to support this request. I’m delighted that 4th to 6th classes will have basketball coaching for 6 weeks by Tolka Rovers after which a team will be selected to the National Basketball Arena.
The Student Council also requested additional equipment for the yard. Again, with thanks to funds raised by parents/PTA, this has also been approved by the Board and is on the way.
Collection of Children during School Time
For parents who may need to collect/drop their children outside of opening and closing time where at all possible please do so either before children come out to yard or at earliest 5 minutes after they go back into classrooms. This helps us to keep everyone safe within the school grounds and reduces gate openings when children are outside.
First yard is 10:45 to 11:00 (so collect before 10:40 or after 11:05) and second yard is 12:20 to 12:45 (so collect before 12:15 or after 12:50).
Further to the safety issue above and previously mentioned, we are implementing the NCSE Relate Guidance, to ensure calm leaning environment. Regular disruptions for students and staff are very unhelpful to smooth running of the school. We do our best to accommodate all sorts of requests (delivery of water/lunches/coats, messages to children, etc.), please be mindful of the potential impact on others.

We appreciate your support with this.

In Art, we explored printing. The pupils designed and created their own printing blocks and produced wonderful patterned prints.
In Maths, we focused on transformations. Using a pencil as a mirror line, pupils worked in pairs to create shapes. Their partner then reflected the shape by building it on the opposite side of the line.
We also enjoyed some planting this week, sowing sunflower seeds into our very own pots. We’re looking forward to watching them grow over the coming weeks!
Reminders:-
- Please follow the Traffic Management Plan. There is no parking for parents on the school grounds.
- School Calendar for Academic Year 2025-2026.
- School Calendar for Academic Year 2026-2027 (subject to potential further closure days as instructed by the Department of Education)
