Assembly on Inclusivity

Jill’s Junior Infants and Kathy’s 3rd class presented a lovely assembly today on the work they have been doing on our value of the month, inclusivity.

Changes to our expectations around digital devices:

We recently updated both our Acceptable Use Policy and Digital Device Policy. A big thank you to all for your input. As directed by the Department of Education & Youth, personal devices are not allowed in school.

Starting in term 3, parents / guardians must inform the teacher in writing if their child must bring a mobile phone, smart watch or other digital device to school for use after school. This can be done by completing the Digital Device Permission form (Appendix A of our Digital Device Policy).

Please note: If the school does not have prior notification of devices on the premises the device may be confiscated.

Born Zippy

One of our teachers, Aoife Cotter is launching a new business- adaptive clothing for children. This business is inspired by her struggles trying to find suitable clothing for her son Ted who is in our ALC Green class. The business is launching on World Down syndrome day (March 21st). Please support her in this venture by following the social media link https://www.instagram.com/bornzippy?igsh=YjZ4ODYwdWZnNWRr&utm_source=qr

Please share it amongst your parent groups as you never know who might need these products.

We wish Aoife the best of luck in her new venture.

My name is Estelle and I am 7 years old. I've been in Project Fashion for about 2 years. It took me 2 months to make the dress. In Project Fashion I have a lot of friends. They give you little scraps of paper to make shapes out of and then you would cut out the shapes in fabric. There's a lot of unpicking in Project Fashion so you would have to get an unpicker and unpick something that is wrong. It's very hard and it's taught me that you have to be patient sometimes and sometimes the dresses don't really fit you. You can't be upset about that because you can make a different one.

Congrulations to Alise and Marley in 5th class who were chosen to be part of the U13 Ireland development squad basketball workshop over Easter.

ECA – Comic Club

There are a few spaces left in our Comic Club ECA that runs every Monday from 2:20-3:20 and also in Board Games ECA which runs on Fridays.

If your child would like to join, please email Alison at [email protected] to express interest. Alison
