Dear Parents and Guardians/A Thuismitheoirí agus a Chaomhnóirí,
As secretary on our Board of Management, I am sharing this message from our Board.
From the end of September, teachers' and SNAs’ unions are taking industrial action as part of a national pay dispute. This means some staff won't be doing certain tasks outside their normal hours, for example after school staff training. Core teaching and learning in school stay the same. On Wed 14 October 2026, schools nationwide are likely to close for the day as part of a planned strike. We'll confirm exactly what this means for our school as soon as we have full details and let you know well ahead of the 14th. In our school, these industrial action measures mean…
- formal meetings with parents and staff meetings outside of school hours are on pause. Contact will continue during the school day/voluntarily outside of school hours as needed.
- development of collaborative whole school plans will be on pause.
- development of new policies paused.

We will be back in touch with further updates as they become available to us.
Board of Management
With the above in mind please make an effort to reduce non urgent communications to the school e.g. reminders to children about attending ECAs/afterschool activities, dropping water bottles for children.
