Grandparent’s Day in Second Class
Second class were delighted to welcome their grandparents, family friends and relatives into our classroom to celebrate grandparent’s day!
The students proudly performed some songs, including one as Gaeilge ‘An bhfaca tú mo Shéamaisín‘. They loved singing Molly Malone, especially when our visitors joined in! The children also enthusiastically performed our ‘Gran you Rap’ poem. We may have some future rap stars amongst us!
They enjoyed sharing their fantastic grandparent acrostic poems and presenting the amazing inventions they created to help older people. Lots of future engineers and scientists in our midst too!
The children and our visitors read stories together and played board games, the most popular game definitely being headbandz, which provided lots of laughter and fun! They also played card games and some of our visitors enjoyed teaching the children games they used to play!
We would like to thank all of our visitors again for taking the time to come and visit us. Already a highlight of our year for sure!
