Safer Internet Day 2026
On Tuesday, we marked Safer Internet Day, a day to promote safe and responsible use of the internet, so that we can make the internet a safer and better place for all. Children learned about a range of topics from Cyberbullying to Generative AI.
We were also lucky enough to have our Garda Community representatives visit classes from 3rd – 6th to talk about this important topic. Additionally, Garda Laura talked to 5th and 6th class about the rules around e-scooters and scramblers.
Resources for Parents
Webwise have some excellent internet safety guides and resources which will help parents get to grips with their children’s internet use and also to explore the issue of internet safety with children. We strongly encourage parents to have a look through these resources as they are a great place to start when navigating the important topic of internet safety.

Aoife’s 5th Class visit to Collins Barracks
First we entered a massive courtyard. After we went inside we then went
to the soldiers and chiefs exhibition.
At the beginning we saw a tapestry and what a soldier would have had.
We also saw a few cannons and multiple soldier replicas.
In the next room there were paintings and hats. There was a video that showed different guns. When we got to the 1916 and the world war I part. We saw different ways people smuggled guns around the city. For example in a book, under your hat or in your coat. There was also some
parts on 1921.
Then we went into the world-war II and UN area. We saw planes, tanks artillery and an old beehive bomb shelter. Then we saw the Asgard. And finally we saw where the signatories were buried and we saw the proclamation engraved on the wall. While we were at the grave we saw

We had an incredible day at the Indoor Track Championships! A huge highlight was the chance for students to experience the thrill of racing on the National Indoor Arena track, the very same track where Olympians train and compete.
Everyone represented themselves brilliantly and should be so proud. The athletes showed outstanding sportsmanship to their teammates and to every other runner on the track. The positivity, support and team spirit on display made it a truly special day for everyone involved. Well done everyone!
