And More!

Daniel’s JI having great fun exploring different ways to problem solve with the new maths curriculum 😊

Both 2nd classes have begun literacy power hour twice a week and are enjoying reading, writing and word work stations.

Dear Parents and Guardians/A Thuismitheoirí agus a Chaomhnóirí,

We celebrated our work on the value of friendship and inclusion during a whole school assembly on Monday. Emma’s 4th class shared some excellent poetry and music with us.

Value for the month of February is Love, “Love is like the wind, you can’t see it, but you can’t feel it.”

Imbolc

There is lots of excellent work going on all the time in school with wonderful arts displays and we all welcome this midway point between the Winter solstice and the Spring equinox and the early signs of Spring. We enjoyed celebrating Imbolc and St Brigid’s day, some children made St. Brigid’s crosses (see below). See twitter for more.

6th Class JEP

As part of the Junior Entrepreneur Programme, Ruairi from the Biasol food company will be coming into talk to 6th class tomorrow about his own journey into entrepreneurship. You can learn more about his company at biasol.ie.

Extension of Cycle Path

As mentioned earlier in the week there is currently on-going work in developing the cycle path along Griffith Avenue. Please see photo below. As a Green School we are delighted that the area is safer for children cycling to school. As always, we encourage motorists to park and stride.

Frása na Seachtaine: “Is maith lion on t-earrach, bíonn na bláthana ag fás” – “I like Spring, the flowers are growing”

An té nach gcuireann san earrach ní bhaineann sé san fhómhar”
