The 5-a-side Girls Football
Last week there was a trial for 5th and 6th class girls togo to a 5-a-side tournament. 8 girls got in. The next week we got a bus to Stella Maris Football Club to play. We played 4 matches, we lost 3 and tied one. It was really warm and sunny out. Everyone on the team worked so hard and should be really proud of themselves. Isabelle, Isabelle, Caoimhe, Olivia, Ruby, Hannah, Sofia and Ariya played their hearts out and we all had an amazing day. Sofia
The boys 5-a-side team had a great day out on Monday at Stella Maris FC. They were put in a really tricky group with the eventual tournament winners. While they progress to the semi finals, they put in some great displays and did the school proud. Well done boys
Thanks to Jill and Sinéad (teachers) for doing a great job on the forest trail, it looks amazing and the children are really enjoying it.
Kathy & Siobhán’s 3rd class designed and built egg landers for the egg drop challenge. We protected our ‘eggstronauts’ using cushioning materials and parachutes. We learned how challenging but fun it can be to work together cooperatively.
World Book Day
We had a book action to celebrate World Book Day. Everyone brought in a book they wanted to pass on, and we traded books using our classroom currency. We had lots of fun and we got some new reading material. Kathy
Lisa’s 2nd Class
teamed up with
Colm’s 6th Class
for a lovely paired reading session. The children in 2nd Class brought their favourite books from home and enjoyed reading them with their 6th Class partners. Then Colm read the pupils' favourite Mr. Men books to the class!
Lisa' 2nd Class pupils shared their favourite books and completed activities based on the stories they love.
Daniel's ALC Green
hard at work all week trying some new things!
Amelia, Alyssa May, Harrison and Olivia from 3rd class enjoying the sunshine in our beautiful forest area. Justine
