Clean Air Week

This week An Taisce are promoting Clean Air Week and a reminder to all parents to turn off their engines when parked at or near the school. While engine idling is damaging and unnecessary, especially to children’s health, it is also damaging to our pockets. Ten minutes of idling could take you 8 kilometres! Click here for six reasons to turn off your car engine when parked.

5th class trip to the Jeanie Johnston otherwise know as the Miracle Ship

Did you know that no one ever died on the Jeanie Johnston?

Marathon Kids Final Mile Event at Morton Stadium

A huge well done to all our 6th class students who completed their final mile of the Marathon Kids programme in Morton Stadium in Santry on Tuesday.

Over the last 8 weeks, each child managed to run a whopping 42 kilometers and learned lots about health and fitness along the way.

A massive thank you to Dublin City Sport & Wellbeing Partnership for supplying the booklets, t-shirts and medals and a special mention to our local Sports Officer, John MacDonald, for facilitating the programme.

As part of Science week, 4th class held a highly successful Sciencd fair on Friday. Students had to research, prepare and present a science experiment for their classmates. We had everything from erupting volcanos, to bouncing eggs and fizzing oranges. The students had lots of fun whilst learning so much about Science along the way!

Children’s Leapcard: Did you know that children aged 5 to 8 can now travel free on Transport for Ireland (TFI) services with a “Child (5-8) TFI Leap Card”.

Reminders:-
