And More!
Daniel’s JI having great fun exploring different ways to problem solve with the new maths curriculum 😊
Both 2nd classes have begun literacy power hour twice a week and are enjoying reading, writing and word work stations.
Dear Parents and Guardians/A Thuismitheoirí agus a Chaomhnóirí,
It was really lovely to see everyone back again, especially so happy to return and ready for the school routine. It was a very settled day across the school. I enjoyed a brief visit to each class today and was impressed at how well everyone remembered the first sentence of our revised mission statement (2022/2023) “We are kind to ourselves and others in the school and beyond”.
I would like to acknowledge the mammoth work of both Nicky & Mick in having everything ready for us to return.
We are delighted to welcome new staff members on board, our great team: Siobhán (ALC Blue), Beccy (5th Class), Kate (4th Class), Sharon (2nd Class), Alicia & Olive (ANAs).
This is our first year having two 6th classes, as it is our final year of development to a two-form school and they are the last pupils to have spent time in the old premises. Here’s to another great year!
Please see below from Ballymun Library.
Reminder:
- Please arrive to school on time as many classes are doing circle time and other learning activities at 8:40am, coming in later than this disrupts the whole class learning and means your child is missing out.

Dear all,
We hope you had good breaks over the summer months and we are looking forward to working with you now that the back-to-school season is here.
My Little Library Bags
You are probably aware that the libraries have ‘My Little Library Bags’ available for children starting school this September. These bags contain some books for the children to keep. They are also available for Ukrainian children up to the age of 7/8 who may be starting school this September. You don’t need to be a library member to acquire one of the bags however of course we always want to encourage people to sign up as members. All that’s required is photo ID and proof of address and it is completely free.
Summer Stars Awards Ceremony
This year’s Summer Stars Awards Ceremony takes place at 4pm on Wednesday 27 September. We will also be making contact directly with those who have participated to let them know the details.
Book Displays
We currently have a specific display of back-to-school related books including bilingual books. We also have a display to help children discover Irish children’s books.
Above all, we want to help your students enjoy visiting the library, feeling comfortable here and getting a chance to explore the treasure trove that is your local library.
We welcome any suggestions or feedback.
Warmest wishes,
The Ballymun Library Team.
