Dear Parents and Guardians/A Thuismitheoirí agus a Chaomhnóirí,

School Closure Tomorrow

We’ve had an email from the Department of Education confirming school closure for all schools tomorrow. If at all possible, please ensure you take home scooters and bikes at the end of the school day today. Take care!

Thanks to Oisín who was the only ET representative at a consultation organised by the Department of Education on Irish in English medium schools.

HSE

We have received information from the HSE that the school programme includes the following:

  • eyesight and hearing screening
  • vaccines
  • school dental programme

By law, schools are obliged to share the following information with the HSE which we do confidentially e.g. your child’s name, address, date of birth and sex, mother’s birth surname, contact details for parent/guardian (including name, phone number and email address), and the child’s personal public service (PPS) number.

This information allows school public health nurses to plan their visit to the school. They can also follow up with families who do not return consent forms, providing additional support and information to make sure children do not miss out. This helps to make sure the programme reaches as many children as possible.

HSE strongly recommend all children avail of the services provided by the school health programme. Parents and guardians have the choice to consent or not to consent to these services.

Parental Input

Thanks again to the parents who took the time to do the traffic awareness week last week. We can see that everyone seems to have a better understanding of the guidance and there is a safer flow of movement. As always thanks for the ongoing regular time given by the library committee and ECA committee and for all the great contributions from parents.

Reminders:

  • School closure at 12pm on Friday, 14th March 2025 for staff training in Bí Cineálta.
  • School closure May 7th for Maths training.
  • If your child is feeling unwell, please keep them at home until they are feeling better.
  • When dropping or collecting your child early/late to/from school please ensure you close the pedestrian gate securely on your way in and out of the school.

Frása na Seachtaine:

“Cén lá atá ann inniú? Dé ________ atá ann.” – “What day is it today? Today is .”

Le meas
