And More!

Daniel’s JI having great fun exploring different ways to problem solve with the new maths curriculum 😊

Both 2nd classes have begun literacy power hour twice a week and are enjoying reading, writing and word work stations.

Dear Parents and Guardians/A Thuismitheoirí agus a Chaomhnóirí,

Fáilte Mhór!

Welcome back everyone. It is great to see kids, staff and parents all happy to be back after the break: it has been a lovely, settled start to 2024. Here’s to a healthy and joyful year with lots of learning.

Friendship

Our value this month is based on friendship, developing skills in becoming a better friend and extending friendship groups.

No Parking in School Grounds in the interest of Safety First and fairness for all

Please use the park ‘n stride designated area on Griffith Avenue Extension before the Ballygall Road East junction at drop off and collection times (click here to view area in question).

There is no parking in the school grounds at drop off or collection times with the exception of the school taxis and those parents who have a school parking permit (please request an up to date permit by email [email protected]) and keep visible on the car dashboard.

The set down areas can be used at school drop off times only to pull in to let the children out of the car by themselves and then continue to drive around the roundabout and out the school gate, keeping traffic moving. Please use this designated set down area only for this purpose.

Please do not park or wait in the set down areas. There is no parking allowed on the roundabout or in the staff carpark (at the rear of the school). Staff carpark is used for staff and ALC taxis only, no parents can park here.

All pedestrians, cyclists, etc. please use the pedestrian gate only.

ECAs

We are hugely grateful to Maria, Martina and Alan for organising ECAs. There is a lot of work involved and more hands-on deck would be appreciated. Many children benefit from these opportunities so it’s a great way to volunteer if you can.

ECA Club Gaeilge

Starting Tuesday 22nd of January

Cost for 8 weeks: €50

Open to all classes/ages – click here to sign up

Spreagfaimid an Ghaeilge sna páistí gach seachtain le gníomhaíochtaí éagsúla spraíúil – drámaíocht, ealaín, amhráin agus cluichí!

Tá gach duine ó gach rang fáilte. Beidh foclóir agus frásaí nua againn gach seachtain, chun seans a thabhairt do na páistí Gaeilge fhiúntach a úsáid in atmaisféar cairdiúil.

Club Gaeilge

We’ll inspire and motivate the children to speak as Gaeilge each week with a variety of fun activities – drama, art, songs and games!

Children of all ages are welcome. We’ll have new vocabulary and phrases every week, and the small class size and positive environment will give children a chance to use meaningful Gaeilge in a fun and friendly environment and develop their language skills and confidence.

Frása na Seachtaine:

“Athbhliain faoi shéan is faoi mhaise duit. Go raibh maith agat. Gurb amhlaidh duit.” –

“Happy New Year to you. Thank you. Many happy returns.”
