National Spring Clean 2015

This Friday the 24th of April, GETNS will be taking part in the National Spring clean initiative as run by An Taisce. Communities all over the country will be working together to tidy up their local areas.

The children and staff will be doing their part to get the school looking its best for the summer term! So lets get the gloves on and get cleaning!

Kindest Act of all!

Kindest Act of all!

Well done to Peter and Mary, who won trophies and medals galore at the Feis. When Mary noticed another child crying because she didn’t win anything, Mary gave her the medal that she herself had just won. Amazing kindness! BTW Mary did not know this girl, and had never met before. We are so proud of you both!

Let’s Celebrate!

As we approach the end of another productive term, we have much to feel proud of. On top of the   wonderful ongoing work and fun had on a daily basis, we have a number of outstanding achievements to celebrate:

  • Ross in Sixth Class won first prize in TCD’s nano-science competition;
  • Well done to Fifth Class, who came first in the first round of the Ballygall Credit Union Quiz;
  • Fourth Class became ‘School of the Month’ with their contribution towards saving water as Water Explorers;
  • Peter in Junior Infants was awarded regional winner of the Sightsavers Junior National Painting Competition. Peter, Amélie and Lucy appeared in the Northside People. The judges commended the work of every single piece of artwork produced by the children in Junior Infants.
