Anti-bullying Policy Review: feedback from parental survey:
Feedback is based on max 15 responses from 183 families
- 85.7% have read the policy
- 78.6% know where to access policy
- 91.7% having read policy and feel they are familiar with what constitutes bullying
- 92.3% are aware of procedures outlined in policy to deal with concern about bullying
- 38.5% (5 out of 13 responses) would like to see some changes, e.g. improved understanding of ‘resilience’ and ‘relational bullying’ and careful use of terminology, ‘bully’ and ‘victim’.
- 76.9% engage regularly in conversations with their child about friendship, respect, inclusion and bullying, e.g. encouraging your child always to tell and never to become a bystander
- 64.3% said their child had not experienced bullying. 5 out of 14 responses said their child had experienced bullying.
AUTUMN FAIR – THANK YOU
Hi Everyone – Well, we did it – the best Autumn Fair ever!

Anne Marie Collins & Catherine Lynch and their team- Soup (thanks to Nina), Hotdogs (thanks to Josh & Vivienne), Burgers (huge thanks to John Greene and his team), Crepes (huge thanks Virginie who brought extra choc and still ran out!) the café, food, cakes etc. were better than anything you would get in Grafton Street – presentation was amazing ! Thanks to everyone who baked, made sandwiches etc.
OliviaCoffey – Arts & Crafts – a centre of art and creativity beautifully and artfully presented! A special thanks also to Amelia Coffey who was an absolute trooper on the day who ran counteless errands and ran the guess how many stall with aplomb! Also, special thanks to Gavin Bailey who handmade the beautiful bird houses and fairy doors.
Ruth Donald – Sweets – who defected for the day and was our Wonderful Willy Wonka!
Barry Lynch – our very own movie expert – move over Barry Norman!
Lisa Anderson – Veg – Our vitamin C levels are back up now after the fabulous fruit and veg stall run by Lisa and her team !
Maura Killoran – Our Weather Girl who kept us updated on the weather possibilities!
Laura Curry – Our amazing reflexologist who kept us all in the Zen Zone !
Eoin Kavanagh Toys – and his team of Elves (he always wanted to be Santa!)
Noel & Finn O’Reilly – Balloon animals galore !
Grainne Collins & Ciaran Crehan – The best book stall ever ably assisted by their team – A lovely oasis of calm and knowledge ! Special thanks to Ciaran who delivered all the left over toys, books etc. to a well known charity who will put them to good use.
Aoife Connolly and her team – Bric a Brac – Fabulous little finds that you wouldn’t find in the best shops on the Kings Road !
Trish O’Meara & Rachel Hobson – this terrific twosome went out and begged for the fabulous prizes in our raffle – this took weeks of hard work, some neck and long nights wrapping !
Fiona McPhillips – Our amazing advertising executive who kept facebook up to date, designed our posters and came up with the amazing idea of buying raffle tickets online. Fiona and and hubby John also ran the very popular tattoo parlour!
Stephanie Collins – Our Photographer’s assistant who made sure everyone was groomed and ready for their “close up” with our fabulous photographer Jonathan Mitchell!
Ray Flannery our resident DJ!
Ruth Ni Loinsigh – Our fabulous fashionista and her team who set up the amazing boutique full of little treasures – a lot of which were begged from Irish Designers.
Asha Sawant, Zoe & Trish – Huge thanks to you all for keeping tresses looking wonderful!
Sinead McCabe – our Pluck a Duck lady who kept the kids entertained !
Yvonne Comaskey, Roisin Perdue, Jill O’Reilly & Niamh – the scariest of witches, but with hearts of gold !
Glasnevin Special Forces Unit – you know who you all are (can’t give names for security reasons!) – Kevin, Richard, Martin, Joe & Frank – oops.
First Year Students – a huge thank you to you all for coming back to your Alma Mater!
Pete & Aoife – our Shylocks who helped with the money count and collection and gave loads of advice based on their previous experiences!
Of course this dream team could not have done it without the help of the amazing people who come in and out of our school every day – the parents, guardians, teachers, children and of course Stephen, who all helped to make this the best day ever – it would take a ten page note to thank everyone personally.
Finally, a huge thanks to Order of Malta who ensured we were prepared for any cuts and scrapes and to Martin, the Garda who came down from Santry to make sure our GETNS Special Forces Unit didn’t need back up !
Thanks a million ~We have an amazing school which we should all be proud to be a part of.
