ET 2nd Level Campaign – Appeal from Head Office

As you may know, after the summer break Educate Together will open five brand new second-level schools, bringing the total number of Educate Together second-level schools nationwide to nine. Educate Together hopes to open many more of these groundbreaking second-level schools, so that students from Educate Together at primary level can continue their education in a school of the same inclusive, equality-based ethos right into post-primary level.

But as we write to you, Educate Together still receives no grant whatsoever from the State for opening of these second-level schools. This means that we are under constant pressure to find alternative sources of funding for this important work. We will forward on an online version of the appeal to you via email next week.

GETNS Arts Day Friday 24th June 2016 – Art Day Team

Art Day is nearly upon us. We need a few essential items to make it happen:FABRICS, OLD JEWELLERY, BUTTONS & RIBBONS, embellishments for our new “All Sewn Up” station (soft toy making).

Also, GAZEBOS, please loan your tent for the day. These need to be set up the day before, on the Thursday.
And, POT LUCK LUNCH – Please buy, bake or cook something for Pot Luck Lunch. Art Day is hungry work and all the food will be shared among our hard working volunteers. (see below also).

Lastly, we still need volunteers, please sign up NOW! www.facebook.com/glasnevinartday/

Please note it is not necessary to be Garda Vetted for participation in Art Day.

ART DAY – FOOD APPEAL!

If you can’t make Art Day ( Friday 24th June – next week!!) don’t worry you can still play a big part! We need lots of donations for the Food Room to help us feed all the great volunteers that make Art Day such a success.

What are we looking for?

Cakes and baked goods always go down well, and don’t worry if you are not a baker – shop bought is just as appreciated!

But we also need lots of savoury food for the main lunch break on the day – so please send in salads (all types), quiches, savoury tarts, meats, cheeses etc

Food can be dropped to the Food Room – which is in 1st Class  – on the morning of Art Day (24th June) only

And don’t forget, if you want the containers back afterwards, please label them clearly with your name (or your childs name and class)

All containers will be available for collection in 1st class at the end of the day, or from outside Karen’s office after that.
