Dear Parents and Guardians / A Thuismitheoirí agus a Chaomhnóirí,

 Absences and Lateness

Parents please remember that class starts at 8.40am and children will be engaged in class activities from this time. We appreciate your support in collectively encouraging your children to develop good life-long habits in terms of punctuality and attendance. Any child arriving after 9am must fill in the sign-in book in Karen’s office and the gate will be closed from 9am.

Also, if your child is sick, please send a note with them on their return to school. There is no need to phone the school unless your child has a contagious illness (i.e. measles, chicken pox etc.)

 Healthy Eating Policy

Further documentation from the HSE and advice from the Department of Skills ask schools to promote ‘Healthy Food for Life’. There may be a misconception or confusion at the moment as our homework journal is not up to date this year and states that Friday is a treat day. This is not the case and we encourage parents not to send in any treats i.e. cereal bars, cakes, crisps, doritos etc. Please seehttp://www.hse.ie/eng/about/Who/healthwellbeing/Our-Priority-Programmes/HEAL/Healthy-Eating-Guidelines/ to view the revised Food Pyramid and new Healthy Eating Guidelines.
