Irish Paralympian Greta Streimikyte visits 3rd Class

Dear Parents and Guardians / A Thuismitheoirí agus a Chaomhnóirí,

Healthy Eating Policy

We recommend water over juice for healthy lunch boxes as the children can drink the water throughout the day when they are thirsty.

National Tree Day

Today is National Tree Day and 5th and 6th classes enjoyed a tour of the Botanic Gardens.

GAA

Well done the girls who showed great team spirit in their match yesterday! Unfortunately, St Columba’s were the stronger team on the day. The boys are through to the quarter finals of the competition and play Griffith Barracks on Monday at 2.30pm in Albert College.

Greta Streimikyte – Irish Paralympian visited 3rd and 5th classes. (See photo attached). Greta is visually impaired and competed in the 1500m in Rio. It was an incredible experience for the children to find out about what it takes for an elite athlete to reach the pinnacle of their career. Thank you to Eoin for organising the visit.

RAKA

The following children were awarded Random Act of Kindness Awards this week: Max and Samuel Junior Infants, Eoin Senior Infants, Pearl 3rd, Barra 4th and Lilith 6th.

RARA

The following children were awarded Random Act of Respect Awards this week: Benjamin Junior Infants, Ethan Senior Infants, Sophie 3rd, Reese 4th and Thomas 6th.

Frása na Seachtaine:  “Cuir ort do chóta, tá sé fuar” – Put on your coat, it’s cold.

Le meas,
